Comedy hypnotist Justin Tranz
amazes audiences

The mind is very powerful, and it is quite easy to tap into the subconscious, especially when you are lured into a hypnotic state. This is the specialty of comedy hypnotist Justin Tranz, who performs at O'Shea's at the Las Vegas Hilton on the Strip.

"Are you guys ready to have some fun?" Tranz asked the audience 10pm Friday night on Nov. 19th. He began the evening by doing some simple exercises with the audience. He told us to concentrate and close our eyes. Next he put us in a kind of meditative state by telling us that our arms felt like balloons that will float away. Most of the audience's arms then rose up to the ceiling.

According to Tranz, "When hypnosis is practiced often, you can quit smoking, drinking and lose weight." This show was not a show to train one to lose weight or quit smoking. Tranz's only goal was to entertain.

At one point in the show, he picked a lady out of the audience and asked her to come onto the stage. Tranz commanded her to concentrate on his hands. As soon as he touched her on the shoulder and commanded her to sleep, she collapsed into his arms and fell asleep. He kept repeating "Stiff as a board, rigid as a ruler." He asked some male volunteers to hold up her now stiff body. Tranz stepped onto her ribcage and stomach, and chanted "Stiff as a board, rigid as a ruler".

I was very curious to find out what hypnosis was about; so I happily volunteered when Tranz asked for people out of the audience to come up on stage.

He had us do some funny and crazy stuff. In the beginning, there were ten volunteers, which eventually dwindled down to five, because as the volunteers started to come out of their hypnotic states, he would send them back to their seats.

Hypnosis is somewhat different than I had expected. When I was hypnotized, I was aware of what was going on, but I was in such a suggestible state, that I could not resist what Tranz told me.

My friend said that I had done some funny things while hypnotized, but I can't remember some of them. He said that Tranz had us do things like model, become Asian rappers and use our shoes as a microphone to tell the audience that the building was on fire.

At one point, Tranz gave everyone a good laugh by telling the hypnotized that as soon as he touched our shoulders, we would act as if we had heard the funniest joke in the world. I could not stop cracking up after he touched my shoulder.

I won't forget the last two parts of the show. Tranz had us switch roles - the females were males and the males were females. The men acted like there were having babies, while the women just sat there and watched.

"Get this the hell out of here," screamed one man who thought that he was giving birth. The 10pm show had some adult content, but no nudity.

"When I shake your hand, it will feel like the most intense orgasm you've ever had," Tranz said at the end of the show.

I was quite shocked because it actually did feel like the real thing. I would definitely recommend the show to any brave souls. It was great experience.
