He has spent
his time studying, teaching and entertaining with hypnosis. He
has worked as a consultant to physicians teaching them medical
hypnosis (pain control, surgical anesthesia, painless childbirth
and medical relaxation). While on the seminar circuit, he has
conducted workshops in the use of hypnosis to stop smoking,
weight reduction, stress management and professional
motivational programs.
Justin Tranz has entertained in
showrooms throughout America including the Riviera Hotel &
Casino, Madison Square Garden, Temple University, California
Stage University Northridge, the Hyatt Stouffer Esmeralda Resort
among many other venues.
He's worked with athletes at all levels
of competition. Justin Tranz says, "I give a new meaning to
audience participation where you can see the show or be the
show". He uses the power of suggestion with the subjects
who are onstage. Within seconds volunteers are placed into a
highly suggestible state-of-mind (hypnosis) and put into comical
situations and sent on exciting adventures.

Bill
Cosby, Eddie Fisher, Patti LaBelle and Justin Tranz all have one
thing in common. They are all natives of Philadelphia who have
performed on the Las Vegas Strip.
The comedy-hypnotist headlines at the
Flamingo's O'Shea's Casino, putting his subjects into a
trance-like state on stage, night after night. He said "I
was born in West Philadelphia and my family moved out to the
suburbs in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania in Delaware County when I was
very young. My parents used to take me to the Steel Pier in
Atlantic City when I was a child. There used to be a carnival
there and I convinced my mother to buy me a Svengali magic deck,
and that's how I started to become interested in show business. After that,
I got some more magic sets and kept practicing with them. When I
was age 8, I saw a hypnotist perform, and it gave me an idea. .
. if I could learn hypnosis, I could control my parents!!! (My
father was in the trucking business for about 40 years, and my
mother was a registered nurse, although now they are both
retired). I saved up enough money and went to a bookstore to buy
a book on hypnosis. I read it and memorized it and tried hypnosis
on some of my friends and became more and more proficient at
it."
Tranz continues: "When I finished high
school, I went to Cecil County Community College, in Maryland,
a two-year college, where I obtained my Associate's Degree on a
basketball scholarship. I finished my degree in psychology at
Vorhees University in South Carolina. All I focused on in
college was studying and playing basketball. After college, I
moved back home and opened a janitorial business which was
grossing about $1.5 million a year. I had 20 to 30 employees in
Lansdowne (we serviced Acme, Shopping Bag, Pathmark
supermarkets, and Channel homeware stores, etc.), but my heart
was not really in that business although I made it prosper. My
heart was still into hypnosis and I started doing hypnosis
shows. My very first one was for a sorority at Temple
University. At that point in my life, I was getting seriously
into hypnotherapy. I started attending schools all over the
country in order to perfect my knowledge of hypnosis and
hypnotherapy. I have approximately two dozen certifications in
hypnosis training from institutions all over the country. I
traveled everywhere to attend national seminars, conventions,
etc. By now, I probably have read every book ever published on
hypnosis. I was thirsting for knowledge and wanted to learn as
much as I could."
He said, "I placed an ad in the yellow
pages, offering hypnotherapy services, and clients started
pouring in. People always want to lose weight, stop smoking, and
I felt that if someone really wanted to alter their behavior in
that respect, I would take them on as a client. My success rate
was of course increased by their willingness to succeed at
their goals. I was charging $300 for three sessions. I worked
with members of the "American Gladiators" TV show to
help them increase their confidence, focus and concentration. I
also worked with actors from the movie "The Karate
Kid" in order to help them memorize their lines. For the
time being, I have set aside this practice, although I still
work with certain clients. I have a CD called "Journey Into
Your Mind" (Ultra Deep Brain Sync Meditation). This CD is a
very unusual audio recording. It uses special audio frequencies
that appear to have a very deep and beneficial effect on the
human brain. The best results are achieved by listening to it,
lying down in a quiet environment, preferably in a dark room,
making sure you use stereo headphones with all the sound
enhancing systems like Dolby or MegaBass turned off. Set the
volume to low. Specify in your mind the purpose of your session.
Concentrate on questions or issues of concern, because what you
think about, you bring about. Here is an incomplete list of
reported effects: relaxation, meditation, pain control, sleep,
increased creativity, memory improvement, improved learning
ability, ESP development, lucid dreaming, past life regression,
out-of-body experiences, enhanced awareness, mind explorations,
overcoming writer's block, change of attitude and behavior and
many more. However, remember that "Journey Into Your
Mind" is not a medical device. It is only for your personal
enhancement of hidden brain potential."
Justin explains: "People on stage who
allow themselves to be honest, open, willing and sincere are
able to achieve a deep level of relaxation, which opens their
subconscious mind to my suggestions. They find it impossible to
resist my simple instructions. They always have a good time and
come out of it feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, as though they
had an 8-hour sleep. Hypnosis is nothing more than the power of
suggestion. Everybody is suggestible; if you weren't
suggestible, you couldn't learn. Having been honing my skills
for the last 20 years, I know how powerful the human mind is. I
tie in comedy and hypnosis into an R-rated adult show. Those
with a good imagination are always the best volunteers, and
literally become the stars of the show."
Justin continued: "Las Vegas is ready
for a major hypnosis show. There have always been magicians with
worldwide notoriety and fame, such as Copperfield, Houdini,
Blackstone, Henning, etc. Hypnotists have never reached that
level. I plan on changing that. I am currently working on
expanding my show for the Millennium. It will be called
"Trance 2000" and I am very excited about it."
The 7pm and 10pm shows are R-rated. Tickets
are $24.95 ($14.95 with local ID), tax included. You can see his show Tuesday through
Saturday in the Comedy Theatre located on the second floor of
Flamingo O'Shea's Casino (between the Flamingo - Las Vegas and the Imperial
Palace) For tickets call (702) 737-1343 or (702) 521-8046.
